I was born and grew up in small-town, south-central PA, eventually attending Dickinson College for my undergraduate study. There I completed a BS in Physics with minors in Astronomy and English. Afterwards, I was thrilled to accept a position as Laboratory Instructor at Colby College, where I taught introductory physics and astronomy labs, as well as an observational astronomy lab. There I developed a passion for teaching and sharing astronomy with others that has never gone away. I also kept tabs on the observatory and helped maintain their research telescope.

After my second year at Colby I decided to pursue graduate study, and was accepted as an Astronomy Master’s student at Wesleyan University. Here I’ve developed as a researcher, a student, and a teacher in ways I could never have predicted. I will graduate in May of 2023, and hope to pursue a PhD beginning that fall. Outside of astronomy, I’m an artist and self-proclaimed “jack-of-all-trades.” I primarily consider myself a painter, specifically in watercolor, gouache, digital art, and acrylic, and I’ve included some astronomy-themed art of mine on the “extracurriculars” page. My other hobbies include sewing, embroidery, woodworking, canning, baking, linocut printing, and screen-printing. I currently live in Hartford, CT with my partner and our amazing, mischievous little cat named Miss Mabel.
